This piece began as a working surface, collecting layers of color over time through both intentional and unexpected marks. When I returned to it, I began shaping the painting, allowing parts of that original history to break through while reworking others.
It reflects the idea that sometimes what’s been building beneath the surface is already trying to break through, in art and in life.
Original mixed media painting on cradled wood panel. The sides are left in their natural wood finish, allowing the material itself to remain part of the artwork. Ready to hang.
