Kailani" - While close to the ocean, I've always felt God's presence in a deeper way. It may be the pause, the deep breaths of prayer, the feel of sand on my toes, the warm sun on my face, or maybe the loud crashing sounds of the waves. It's my safe place. So when I decided to paint the largest canvas I've ever attempted, I knew I wanted it to portray sea and sky. Then while trying to come up with the perfect name, I stumbled across this Shakespearean name that means "daughter of the sea," Kailani, a Hawaiian name meaning "sea and sky." And just like that, she has a name, "Kailina."
